A Family Legacy in Every Cup
The Coffee Grove isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a story of family, resilience, and the love of bringing people together. Our journey started in Buffalo, NY, where our home became a gathering place for friends, relatives, and military family, especially after my father’s retirement. Those gatherings were filled with food, conversation, and a sense of belonging. We called it “The Grove.”
Honoring a Promise
My mother worked long hours at Tim Hortons, building friendships with every customer she served. I always told her, “One day, I’ll open my own coffee shop so you can relax.” She would smile and brush it off, but I meant it. In 2015, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and by January 2016, she was gone. Losing her made me more determined than ever to make that promise a reality in her honor.
Building The Dream
In 2022, my younger brother and I decided to take the leap. We designed The Coffee Grove’s logo as a tribute to our journey—eucalyptus for healing, bonsai for strength, and a reminder of the traditions that shaped us. We wanted to create a space where everyone could feel at home, just like we did in those family gatherings.
Carrying on the Legacy
January 2024 brought another loss—my brother passed away before seeing The Coffee Grove open. He was ready to stand beside me, pushing forward with the same determination we shared. Now, every cup we serve carries his legacy and the values our family stood for.
